'The Banana Tree' Zine

10.00

In Easton, Pennsylvania there's a plant store named The Banana Tree that looks closed from the outside. Dimly lit and dusty on the inside, an elderly man named Frank walks downstairs and greets people with a hoarse voice - forcing him to hold his throat when he speaks. If you talk to Frank he'll tell you not to study horticulture and that he doesn't know why he unlocks his doors to the display room, because he mostly ships exotic plant seeds to foreign countries.

I visited The Banana Tree to buy plants for my windowsill in my apartment, but instead I met Frank and his seeds, and his dusty storefront. After speaking with him, he gifted me a book that he published in the 70s called 'Edible Nuts of The World'.

This zine is based off my experience at The Banana Tree with images pulled from the book I was gifted by Frank, and Illustrations inspired by his storefront.
